The surgery of inserting calf implants is intended for those, who are dissatisfied with the shape and size of their calves. These are patients unhappy to the point that they avoid wearing garments that uncover their legs. This plastic surgery in Poland is an alternative for those who, despite an intensive training, can not get the desired effect. Both women and men undergo implantation of the calves, but for different reasons. While men usually focus on the appearance which will highlight the size and weight of the calf muscle, women usually desire calf implants for anatomical balance, where the calf muscles will be more proportional to the muscles of the thighs.

    Calf implants are used to:

    – Increase the calf
    – Reconstruct the calf after the loss of a soft tissue

    Indications for surgery:

    – Too slender calves
    – Asymmetric calf
    – Correction of deformity

The procedure is performed under general anesthesia and takes about 2 hours. Depending on the desired effect, the implants can be placed on the inside of the calf, on its outer side or both sides at once. After the operation, a very important element is the prevention of hematoma, that is why patients have drains installed after the surgery. It is also advisable to wear compression stockings. After two days the bandages are removed and the patient is encouraged to start a more vigorous walk. This allows your muscles to get used to having implants and allows the skin to stretch. After the bandages are removed, you can already take short daily showers. Total return to all the physical activities is possible after 4-6 weeks.
